I keep getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about warm weather. Seriously. Short sleeves, butterflies. Park swings, butterflies. Swimming pools, butterflies. Open windows, campfires, bare-foot baby boy, BUTTERFLIES!
I had no idea I had cabin fever until we had one day of 60 degree weather. Then I started thinking about SJ. He probably has cabin fever, too. ICK. Then, I decided winter is a horrible thing. We should all live where it's warm, by the sea! Yeah, all babies should be beach babies!! Shoes? Shirts? ICK. I'm so done with winter.
I started making a list (I have a weird thing for lists. I get it from my Mom. I love a good long list. I make a rough draft and final draft of my grocery list every week. Kind of embarrassing...I'm a freak, I'm over it) of all the stuff we HAVE to do this spring, summer and fall, when we can be outdoors!
. Buy SJ bright, colorful collection of t-shirts from Once Upon A Child.
.Find an awesome place to camp. With a lake where we can take our baby swimming. A clean place where we can let SJ run around bare-foot. Oh, and it has to have a playground with a tire swing.
.Make dinner on the grill. Outside. Every night.
.Parks. Chase ducks and ride the train at Columbian Park. Lazy River it at Tippecanoe Cove. Take pictures of Shaun trying to fit down the tunnel slide at Happy Hollow. Walk around the pond and have a picnic at Armstrong Park.
.Start my morning walk around the neighborhood ritual again.
.Walk to Igloo and buy my baby an ice cream cone.
.Learn what SJ's favorite ice cream flavor is.
.Take a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo...or 20.
.Swim at Bethie and Papaw's. Watch SJ stand on the deck in his trunks, eating a melting pop-cycle.
.Eat Papaw's specialty, hockey puck chicken.
.Sit around the pool with family. Babies sleeping in laps. Watch someone lovingly shove someone else into the pool, freshly showered and fully clothed, cell phone in pocket.
.Let SJ hold his first sparkler, taste his first s'more, maybe get his first knee scab?
.Take pictures of SJ riding on Daddy's shoulders.
.Tag along on Bethie and Papaw's boat trip. Turn SJ into a fish.
I can think of at least 20 more, but the list is getting long! Oh my goodness, butterflies.

Ahhhhhh! I'm so excited I can't even breath normally now. Gosh I'm going crazy just thinking about it all. I can't wait to go to the zoo. I can't wait to just wall out side with out a jacket and be warm! Ahhh I can't take it.
