Sometimes SJ wakes up early and for a second I think, oh crap, I'm so tired. Then I remember how great it is to pull him out of bed and kiss him all over. He smiles with his mouth and eyes closed and pushes his forehead and cheeks to my face so I can kiss them. Then, he opens up wide and plants a huge slobber kiss right on my mouth. GOOD morning.
If I'm lucky, it isn't too early, and Shaun has left for work. Usually, all the Callahans are still snoozin'. SJ and I brew some coffee and let Charley out to pee. (Soon, it will be warm enough to take my coffee and my baby boy outside with Charley. We will walk down to the end of our road and watch Charley chase nothing, just like we did last summer when Grandma Carol was staying with us. We will have bare feet, and this year I'll put my baby down so he can walk on his own. I'll pretend to chase him and I'll call for Charley and it will be great.)
I take my coffee, my baby and my dog back to SJ's bedroom because it's too early for bananas and Cheerios. SJ plays on the carpet in his pjs. I get to watch him from the awesome green Target-clearance chair. Charley alternates begging me to pet him and sniffing the baby.
SJ pulls down every book from his shelf and adorably looks through some. (He looks through the farm animal one and makes a "Rrrraaaaaarrrrrrrrrr!!" sound for every animal. Duck, pig, sheep, "Rrrrrrraaaaaaaarrrrrrr!!!" lol.
I actually get to finish my coffee before he is in need of a diaper change, bananas and Cheerios.
SJ woke up early this morning. We did all of this. What a happy, happy Friday.
